Terbium Acetate has important role as an activator for green phosphors used in color TV tubes. Meanwhile Terbium Acetate is also used in special lasers and as a dopant in solid-state devices. Terbium is also used in alloys and in the production of electronic devices. As a component of Terfenol-D, Terbium is of use in actuators, in naval sonar systems, sensors, in the SoundBugdevice (its first commercial application), and other magnetomechanical devices. Slightly hygroscopic. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store at room temperature. Incompatible with Strong oxidizing agents.
