性质描述:

无色针状或棱柱状晶体。熔点82℃，沸点192℃（3.6kPa）。溶于乙醇、乙醚和石油，不溶于水，可溶于碱的水溶液，溶于浓硫酸呈黄色。在蒸汽中稍有挥发，遇氯化铁呈棕色。

生产方法:

由2-萘酚与氯仿反应而得。在反应锅内加入乙醇、2-萘酚，加热至40℃，搅拌0.5h。再加入30%氢氧化钠溶液，升温至75℃，滴加氯仿，控制反应温度为78℃。加完后，在78℃保温2h。然后升至90℃，蒸出乙醇和过量氯仿，蒸完后，冷却至30℃以下，静置分层6h。过滤，滤液加水搅拌，加热至60℃，用盐酸中和至pH为2-3。冷却，过滤，滤饼在60℃以下干燥，得成品。

用途:

该品是有机合成中间体，也是测定钯、铍的分析试剂。2-羟基-1-萘甲醛与丙二酸二乙酯在乙酐存在下成环，可合成荧光增白剂PEB。将28kg2-羟基-1-萘甲醛、29kg丙二酸二乙酯和50kg乙酐加入反应锅内，搅拌，加热升温至130℃，回流8h。停止加热，继续搅拌1h。冷却至80℃，静置24h。吸滤，用10%纯碱液洗涤饼，再用清水将滤饼洗至中性。然后将滤饼加入40kg酒精中，加热溶解。冷却，过滤。滤饼用少量乙醇冲洗，再于60℃烘干，粉碎，得荧光增白剂PEB标准品36kg。荧光增白剂PEB主要用于赛璐咯白料、聚氯乙烯、乙酸纤维等白料的增白和色料的增艳。
