性质描述:

叶状结晶。熔点134℃，溶于醇、醚和热水，不溶于冷水。210℃分解。遇硝酸作用生成苯甲酸。易潮解。

生产方法:

用双氧水或硝酸氧化二苄基硫醚而得：将214g（1.0mol）二苄基硫醚溶于1.8L丙酮中，加入113g30%的双氧水，于室温下放置两天，然后蒸出丙酮，即析出二苄亚砜结晶。也可采用偏过碘酸（NaIO4）为氧化剂，用1：1的甲醇，水为溶剂，于0℃下滴加二苄硫醚进行氧化反应数小时后，用三氯甲烷萃取反应物，萃取液用无水硫酸干燥后，蒸除溶剂。用乙醇重结晶得二苄亚砜纯品。产率可达96%。

用途:

有机合成中间体。
