性质描述: 淡橙黄色结晶或薄片。约250℃变暗,不熔融而发生炭化。较易溶于乙醇,酚吡啶,氢氧化碱和碳酸碱溶液,微溶于甲醇,少溶于乙醇和丁醇,不溶于醚、丙酮氯仿和苯。在25℃水中溶解度仅0.0016mg/ml,沸水中约溶1%,1g叶酸于10ml水中的悬浮液,pH为4.8-4.8。叶酸在空中稳定,但受紫外光照射即分解失去活力。
生产方法: 叶酸起初系从肝脏浸出液中提取,现在采用合成法生产。合成法可先合成蝶啶核,然后与对氨基苯甲酰谷氨酸缩合得到叶酸,也可由2,4,5-三氨基-6-羟基嘧,α,β-二溴丙醛及对氨基苯甲酰谷氨酸在乙酸-乙酸钠缓冲溶液中反应得到粗叶酸,经精制得到含有两分子结晶水的叶酸。与后一合成法相似,对氨基苯甲酰谷氨酸,三氯丙酮及2,4,5-三氨基-6-羟基嘧啶硫酸盐([1603-20-7]),在乙酸钠和焦亚硫酸钠存在,保持pH3.4-3.6,温度36-40℃的条件下,环合反应6h,即得桔红色的叶酸沉淀。
用途: 叶酸用于饲料,医药和食品方面,但主要用于饲料。

Folic acid, a water-soluble B vitamin, is available in several food products. As it is not generated in the human body, diet is one of the easiest ways to obtain it. Pharmaceutical drug forms of folic acid are desirable for supplementing its consumption through the diet.
