Andrographolide is a major bioactive component of Andrographis paniculata Nees. which is a popular Chinese and Indian medicine. It belongs to the terpenoid class of compounds.

应用

Andrographolide may be used as a reference standard for the determination of andrographolide in:

• Leaves of Andrographis paniculata by soxhlet extraction-recrystallization-column chromatography purification followed by analyses using reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) as well as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
• Roots of Andrographis paniculata by HPLC with diode array detection (DAD), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and LC coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) equipped with electrospray ionization (ESI) and multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode of detection.
• Stems of Andrographis paniculata by ultra-HPLC combined coupled to triple quadrupole-linear ion trap mass spectrometry (QqQ_LIT-ESI-MS/MS) with MRM detection.
• Rat plasma samples by protein precipitation and subsequent ESI-LC-MS/MS determination using MRM detection.

An irreversible blocker of NF-κB and AP-1 (IC₅₀ ≤ 15 µM) activation that displays anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and anti-hyperglycemic properties. Exerts no effect on IκBα degradation of nuclear translocation p50 and p65. Inhibits iNOS and Mac-1 expressions and ROS production, and prevents endotoxin shock in a mouse model. Reported to supress Cytochrome C release and apoptosis by activating the PI 3-K/Akt pathway.
A bicyclic diterpenoid lactone that displays anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and anti-hyperglycemic properties. Acts as an irreversible antagonist of NF-κB and AP-1 (IC₅₀ ≤ 15 µM) activation, and prevents in vitro and in vivo T cell activation. Exerts no effect on IκBα degradation, p50 and p65 nuclear translocation. Inhibits iNOS and Mac-1 expressions and ROS production, and prevents endotoxin shock in mouse model. Further, reported to activate PI 3K/Akt pathway.
