性质描述: 黄色针状结晶。熔点191-192℃（183℃），升华，18℃时，1g能溶于0.64mg水及5.25g乙醇中。有氨的气味。
生产方法: 乙腈与氨钠反应：将乙腈加入干燥的高压罐中，然后迅速加入氨钠，在135-150℃，约0.8-1MPa压力下反应1.5h，冷却得粗环合物。粗品加热水溶解。过滤，滤液浓缩得精制的产品。
用途: 医药中间体。用于生产磺胺二甲基异嘧啶，生产时，与对乙酰氨基苯磺酰氯（ASC）缩合，得6-对乙酰氨基苯磺酰氨基-2,4-二甲嘧啶，然后水解即得磺胺二甲基异嘧啶。
