白色针状结晶体。熔点119-123℃，沸点310℃。不溶于水。

生产方法:

将2-甲氧基-6-硝基苯甲腈和氢氧化钾和醇溶液一起回流2h，将溶液蒸馏浓缩后倾入冰水，滤水棕色的固体，用冷水洗涤，干燥，得粗品。粗品经重结晶、活性炭脱色，即为成品，收率约70%。

用途:

有机合成中间体。
