盐酸尸胺可用于尸胺耐受性测试中，以评估在化学限定R/2培养基中，大肠杆菌K12野生型菌株W3110对尸胺的耐受。 它可用于麦芽糖结合蛋白(MBP)-甲状旁腺激素受体(PTH1R)细胞外结构域(ECD)-His6融合蛋白的结晶。 它已被用作鱼类组织样品中生物胺色谱定量的标准化合物。
